During this Golden Century, Spanish galleons would ship for four months twice a year across the Pacific from Manila in the Philippines to Acapulco (New Spain, present-day Mexico). After crossing Mexico and reaching the port of Veracruz, other ships would bring to Spain their cargoes of luxury goods bought with Mexican silver and cultural exchange.
